Синята тинтява, Gentiana cruciata, е многогодишно тревисто растение, което принадлежи към род Тинтява. В синята тинтява се съдържат багрилни вещества, гликозиди, аскорбинова киселина, пектин, генциамарин, генциопикрин, генциазин, етерично масло, танини, ксантони и тризахарида генцианоза. С лечебна цел се използват всички части на растението. Синята тинтява е много полезна за стомаха, освен това тя стимулира апетита и има жлъчегонно действие. В българската народна медицина растението се използва при възпаления и пясък в пикочния мехур и бъбреците, хистерия, туберкулоза, хемороиди, подагра, болезнена менструация, кашлица и виене на свят.
Капките на д-р Бах с екстракт от диворастящa синя тинтява се препоръчват за хора, които лесно се обезкуражават и често са песимистични. Тези капки на д-р Бах се препоръчват при болки във врата и раменете, депресия и депресивни състояния, както и при симптоми придружаващи безпокойство, страх, липса на комуникация.
